During baseball season there is a routine for Northside Chicagoans. At the beginning of each month we check to see if the Cubs are mathematically eliminated from winning for the pennant. I am pleased to say, despite the embarrassment of losing to the lowly Pittsburg Pirates 3-6 on opening day, my Chicago Cubs are still in contention.
